We opened our store on Broad Street in 1991 in the midst of "Furniture Row," a two block section in the city where furniture stores had anchored the downtown retail district since the mid-1800's.  In 1995, we were fortunate to acquire Barr Furniture Company on Hull Street and Lewis Furniture on Broad.  Not too many years later, we acquired the assets of Korman Furniture Store and Seldon Furniture Warehouse when their respective owners retired.  By 2004 we'd outgrown our Broad Street showroom, so we decided to move. 

Detailed analysis of our customer base showed that many of our customers lived within ten miles of Laburnum Avenue, a major artery across Richmond's Northside and East End.  So... we moved to our old showroom on Mechanicsville Turnpike just a block off Laburnum Avenue.  That new showroom enabled us to have all our merchandise on one floor, provide customer parking, and allow us to keep longer hours than we did on Broad Street.

We were most fortunate that when the owners of Standard Furniture Company decided to retire in 2016 they invited us to acquire their business.   Their customers and employees joined ours, and everything continues to be terrific!

Since we outgrew that building we had the opportunity to move across the street!  Now in our huge new home we're please to be able to show more merchandise and still provide In-Store financing and FREE DELIVERY!

We're customer service oriented!  There are no salespeople here.  Our vendor partners teach us about their products and we're here to answer your questions.   While much of our merchandise is custom made to our design specs, a lot of our goods are mass produced.  Some goods are manufactured here in our country and some come from overseas.   Our staff works to help you find the items that meet your needs and to help you get them.
